Privacy Policy

Hopp (“Hopp”, “we”, “us”) is a travel-planning app operated by zero8zero labs. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using Hopp you agree to this policy.
1. Information we collect
Account information
When you sign up we collect your phone number, and — if you use Apple/Google sign-in or add it yourself — your email address and name. You may optionally add a profile photo.
Trip content
The trips, bookings, itinerary items, notes and cover images you create or upload. If you invite others to a trip, that content is shared with them (see “Sharing”).
Forwarded booking emails
Each trip has a unique forwarding address. When you forward a confirmation email to it, we receive and process that email — including its text and attachments — to automatically extract reservation details (flights, stays, reservations) for your review.
Location
If you use the in-app “Local Expert”, we use your device location (with your permission) to suggest relevant places nearby. You can deny or revoke this in your device settings.
Device & usage information
Basic technical information needed to run the app reliably, and (if you opt in) a push-notification token to send you trip alerts.
2. How we use your information
- To provide and operate Hopp — store your trips, organise bookings, and sync across your devices.
- To extract reservation details from forwarded emails and screenshots you add.
- To look up live flight status and suggest places relevant to your trip.
- To authenticate you and send one-time verification codes.
- To send trip-related notifications you’ve enabled.
- To maintain security and prevent abuse.
3. AI processing
To turn a forwarded email, a screenshot, or a question into structured trip details and suggestions, we send the relevant content (e.g. email text, an uploaded image, or your itinerary context) to our AI provider, Anthropic, which processes it on our behalf and does not use it to train its models. AI output can be imperfect — always review extracted bookings before relying on them.
4. Service providers
We share data only with providers that help us run Hopp, each limited to what their function requires:
- Supabase — database, authentication and file storage (your account and trip data).
- Anthropic — AI extraction and suggestions (content you submit, as above).
- Google — Maps & Places (place search/details) and Google Sign-In.
- AeroDataBox — flight route and live status lookups (flight numbers).
- Twilio and 2Factor — delivering verification codes by SMS or voice call.
- Postmark — receiving your forwarded booking emails.
- Apple — Sign in with Apple.
- Cloudflare — hosting and network infrastructure.
We do not sell your personal information.
5. Sharing with people you invite
When you invite someone to a trip, they can see that trip’s content (bookings, itinerary, and who else is on it) and the trip’s name and dates. Invites are addressed to a phone number or email; the recipient must sign in to Hopp with that contact to accept.
6. Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active. You can delete individual trips and items at any time, or delete your account to remove your data, subject to limited retention required for legal or security purposes.
7. Your rights
You can access and edit your profile and trip data in the app, and delete content or your account. To make a request or ask a question, contact us through the Hopp app.
8. Security
We use industry-standard measures (encrypted transport, access controls, row-level security) to protect your data. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to keep your information safe.
9. Children
Hopp is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country), and we do not knowingly collect their data.
10. International transfers
Your information may be processed in countries other than your own by us and our providers. We take steps to ensure it remains protected.
11. Changes
We may update this policy; we’ll revise the “Last updated” date and, for material changes, notify you in the app.
